MATTOON, Ill.—January 17, 2026— The No. 9-ranked Parkland College women's basketball team continued its strong conference run on Saturday afternoon, earning a 75–55 road victory over Lake Land College. With the win, the Cobras move to 13–4 on the season.
Parkland used balanced scoring and sustained defensive pressure to pull away, placing four players in double figures while controlling the game on both ends of the floor.
Kiarra Orphelia led the Cobras with an all-around performance, finishing with 19 points, 6 steals, and 4 assists. Sofia Perez followed with 14 points, providing steady offensive production throughout the contest.
Yohangeli Guzman and Chineyenwa Ibekwe each added 11 points, helping Parkland maintain separation as the game progressed.
On the glass, Stacie Vonderheide anchored the Cobras with a dominant rebounding effort, pulling down a team-high 15 rebounds to go along with her interior presence.
Parkland will remain on the road, traveling to Godfrey, Illinois, to face Lewis & Clark Community College on January 19. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.
