CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—January 21, 2026— In one of the biggest wins of the season, the No. 9-ranked Parkland College women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night, upsetting No. 2 Lincoln Land Community College, 88–52 at home. With the victory, the Cobras improve to 15–4 on the season.
Parkland controlled the game on both ends of the floor, using pace, defensive pressure, and efficient shooting to pull away early and never look back. The Cobras showcased impressive balance offensively, with four players scoring in double figures on strong shooting performances.
Yohangeli Guzman led the way with 19 points, while Stacie Vonderheide powered the inside and perimeter attack with a team-high 21 points. Siarah Brown added 17 points, and Sofia Perez finished with 16 points, rounding out the Cobras' scoring surge.
Head coach Jean Demosthenes praised his team's effort and growth following the win.

Their recent seven-game winning streak underscores their remarkable mental fortitude and ability to come together as a cohesive unit. The win continues a strong stretch for Parkland, which has now won seven straight games and continues to build momentum heading deeper into conference play.
The Cobras return to the Pit on January 24, hosting Governors State University JV. Tipoff is scheduled for 1PM CST.
