No. 5 Cobras Overwhelm John Wood in Home Victory

Vonderheide stuffs the stat sheet as Parkland rolls to its 17th win

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—January 28, 2026— The No. 5-ranked Parkland College women's basketball team continued its dominant stretch on Wednesday afternoon, cruising past John Wood Community College, 97–43. With the win, the Cobras improve to 17–4 on the season.

Parkland controlled the game from the opening tip, combining defensive pressure with an up-tempo offensive attack to steadily build a commanding lead. The Cobras showcased depth, ball movement, and balance throughout the contest as they approached the century mark.

Stacie Vonderheide led the Cobras across the board, finishing with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Siarah Brown and Chineyenwa Ibekwe each added 13 points, providing consistent scoring as Parkland pulled away.

Yohangeli Guzman contributed 11 points while energizing the offense with several highlight-reel no-look passes that sparked transition opportunities. Selah Campion turned in a career performance, scoring a new high of 14 points off the bench.

Parkland's defense limited John Wood to just 43 points while continuing to apply pressure for all four quarters, reinforcing the Cobras' identity as a team that can dictate pace on both ends of the floor.
