CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—January 31, 2026— The No. 5-ranked Parkland College women's basketball team put together a commanding performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Kaskaskia College, 90–41. With the win, the Cobras improve to 18–4 on the season.
Parkland set the tone early, jumping out to a 30–12 first-quarter lead and never looking back. The Cobras' defensive pressure and crisp ball movement fueled a dominant effort on both ends of the floor, holding Kaskaskia to just 41 points while forcing turnovers and controlling the glass.
Siarah Brown led all scorers with 19 points, shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc. Sofia Perez delivered a flawless performance from long range, going 4-for-4 from three-point range and finishing with 14 points in just 11 minutes of action.
Stacie Vonderheide turned in an all-around effort with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Kiarra Orphelia added 8 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals off the bench. Parkland's depth was on full display, as multiple players contributed across the stat sheet in a complete team win.
The Cobras shot 57.1% from three-point range, went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, and totaled 25 assists on 38 made field goals, underscoring their unselfish offensive execution.
Parkland will return to the Dodds Athletic Center on February 4, hosting No. 8 Illinois Central College in a highly anticipated matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
