No. 5 Cobras Cruise Past Spoon River

Parkland more than doubles Spoon River score

CANTON, Ill.—February 7, 2026— The No. 5-ranked Parkland College women's basketball team turned in a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Spoon River College, 94–43, to continue its strong late-season push. With the win, the Cobras improve to 19–5 on the season.

Parkland controlled the game from the opening tip, using defensive pressure and an up-tempo offensive attack to build separation early and maintain it throughout the contest. The Cobras finished the afternoon shooting 48.2% from the field and 47.4% from three-point range, while forcing 17 steals.

Trinity Harden led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down 3 three-pointers and attacking the basket consistently. Yohangeli Guzman followed with 16 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the floor while adding 3 steals.

Parkland's balance continued with Siarah Brown and Kiarra Orphelia each scoring 13 points. Orphelia also filled the stat sheet with 5 assists and 4 steals, providing a spark off the bench.

On the glass, Chineyenwa "Nae" Ibekwe and Leigha Brown pulled down 6 and 7 rebounds, respectively, while the Cobras recorded 18 offensive rebounds and 18 assists as a team, showcasing their depth and unselfish play.

Up next, the Cobras will stay on the road, traveling to Danville, Illinois, to face Danville Area Community College on February 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CST.
