PANAMA CITY/MARIANNA/NICEVILLE, Fla.—March 16, 2026—The No. 17 Parkland College softball team wrapped up a challenging three-day Florida road trip Monday after facing a slate of strong opponents, including Gulf Coast State College, Chipola College, and Northwest Florida State College. The Cobras went 0–5 over the stretch and now sit at 10–13 on the season.
Game 1: Parkland 4, Gulf Coast State College 7
Parkland opened the trip with a competitive showing in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Gulf Coast State College.
Ellie Lowe led the Cobras offensively, going 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and a home run. Maddie Gourley, Lucy Fearday, and Camille Wines each drove in a run, while Kaitlyn Helms and Lainey Klokkenga recorded doubles. Fearday went the distance in the circle, striking out 8 batters across 6 innings while allowing 7 runs.
Game 2: Parkland 0, Gulf Coast State College 7
The Cobras were held to just one hit in the second game of the day as Gulf Coast State completed the sweep. Parkland pitching saw Lainey Klokkenga start in the circle, working 4.1 innings before Saige Althoff came on in relief.
Game 3: Parkland 0, Chipola College 9
Parkland returned to action Sunday against Chipola College but was unable to generate offense against the Indians' pitching staff, falling 0–9. Chipola scored in 5 different innings to take control of the contest.
Game 4: Parkland 0, Chipola College 4
The Cobras kept the second game against Chipola tighter but were again held scoreless in a 0–4 defeat. Chipola pushed across runs early and maintained the lead throughout the game.
Game 5: Parkland 0, Northwest Florida State College 10
Parkland closed the trip Monday against Northwest Florida State College, falling 0–10 in a five-inning game.
Northwest Florida State used a pair of big innings to pull away, while the Cobras were unable to break through offensively.
Up next, the Cobras will look to regroup as they travel to Alabama for a doubleheader against Shelton State Community College on March 17.
