BRADY SCHANUEL
Brady Schanuel was a two-time NJCAA Division II Baseball All-American player for the Cobras, earning Second Team honors following his freshman season in 2016 and earning First Team honors in 2017. His dominance on the pitching mound during those two seasons resulted in several Parkland records. He holds the program record for strikeouts in a game with 21 and holds 4 of the top 5 single-game strikeout performances in program history. He also holds the Parkland career records for wins (20), Earned Run Average (1.54), and strikeouts (261).
During Brady’s sophomore season in 2017, he helped the Cobras finish in 3rd place at the NJCAA National Tournament, while individually notching NJCAA Region 24 All-Region First Team, All-Conference First Team, and Conference Pitcher-Of-The-Year honors. In his 10 wins-1 loss season, he recorded 130 strikeouts, one shy of the Parkland Record he set the year before. His 14.56 strikeouts per game led the nation, and his 2.13 Earned Run Average was 13th in the nation that year. During his freshman season in 2016, he was also honored as NJCAA Region 24 All-Region First Team, All-Conference First Team, Conference Pitcher-Of-The-Year, and Conference Freshman-Of-The-Year. Statistically, that season he led the country in strikeouts with 131, which is also a Parkland single-season record. He also recorded 10 wins (6th in the nation), 14.09 strikeouts/game (4th in the nation), and a 1.83 Earned Run Average (10th in the nation).
Following his playing time at Parkland, Brady went on to pitch for the University of Iowa for one season. He was also selected three times in the Major League Baseball draft. He was drafted in the 36th round by the Oakland Athletics in 2016, he was drafted in the 20th round by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2017, and finally he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 27th round in 2018. Following the 2018 draft, Brady pitched in the Brewers farm system until 2023, with stops in Helena, MT; Colorado Springs, CO; and Appleton, WI.
Brady went back to school and graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2025. He is currently working for a company called Newrez, doing mortgage lending. In 2024, he married his wife, Sierra, and the couple lives in Fairview Heights, IL.
