Hall of Fame
Lyle Burns was on the Parkland College men's golf team from 2012-2014. During his time at Parkland, Burns was an NJCAA DII All-American. He also had All-Region 24 and All-Conference honors, in addition to being a 3x individual medalist. Burns was a 2x NJCAA National Championship qualifier and 9th Place finisher in the 2014 NJCAA National Championship. After Parkland, he transferred to Bradley University, where he made First Team All-Conference in 2016. Burns was a Cleveland/Srixon All-American Scholar, 5x Missouri Valley Golfer of the Week, and 2x MVC Scholar Athlete. He was a 4x individual medalist and placed in the top 10 in 13 of 24 career tournaments. At Bradley, he holds the following records: Lowest Career Stroke Average, Most Career rounds in the 60's, Lowest 36 hole score (135; -9), and Lowest 54 hole score (210; -11).
After graduating from Bradley, Burns earned his master's degree from the University of Nebraska. He works as a Commerical Insurance Agent at InsureChampaign-Hilb Group and volunteers with the Tinervin Family Foundation. Burns currently resides in Champaign, Illinois, with his wife Jessica and children Isla and Andrew.Â
