Rachel Schroeder
During Rachel’s 34-year tenure at Parkland she attended many women’s and men’s basketball games, and occasionally volleyball games. She also attended many away games at Danville, Peoria, Mattoon, and Florida, in addition to going to Quincy to watch the women play in a tournament. In 1986, she was awarded NJCAA plaque in appreciation for her support of Parkland athletics during the college’s 20th anniversary. When Rachel retired from Parkland in 2000, she became interested in the University of Illinois men’s and women’s basketball and men’s football teams. A season ticket holder for home men’s football and basketball games, she has also attended some women’s basketball events. Rachel is a member of the Quarterback Club, Rebounders Club, and Courtsiders. Rachel joined the Carle Hospital Auxiliary in 2001, served as an officer, and continues to actively volunteer in the hospital weekly.
