DJ HOSKINS
DJ Hoskins was a member of the Parkland College Men’s Basketball team in the 2009–2010 and 2010–2011 seasons, earning the honor of NJCAA Men’s Basketball Division II Third-Team All-American following the 2010–2011 season. During that season, DJ helped lead the Cobras to an 11th-place finish in the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament. DJ is the second most accomplished scorer in Parkland College Men’s Basketball history, as evidenced by the fact that he ranks second on the Cobras career lists for points scored (1084), Field Goals made (353), Three-Pointers made (131), and Free Throws Made (247). DJ was a complete player, also recording 82 steals, fourth-most in program history. During DJ’s 2009–2010 freshman campaign, he recorded 517 points, the seventh highest single season mark in Cobras history, which amounted to a 17.2 points/game average, which is sixth highest in program history. His sophomore season (2010–2011) was even better offensively as he recorded 567 points (5th in program history), 16.2 points/game (8th in program history), and 77 three-point field goals (5th in program history).
DJ went on to continue his basketball career at William Woods University, where he played in 26 games during the 2012–2013 season, averaging 11.8 points/game and hitting 48 three-pointers. DJ was equally strong in the classroom, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems while recording a 3.8 GPA. After college, he worked in the Information Technology field until 2023. He then switched over to be a full-time day trader.
DJ married his Sunny, who is an OB/GYN at Torrance Memorial in California, and they currently live in Torrance, California. They have 3 daughters, Layla, Harper, and Harlow, who keep them busy.
